This past Sunday we celebrated Bowen's 2nd Birthday with family and friends. I love a good theme party and decided this year Bowie's theme will be TWO THE MOON. Dan and I made a playlist of all Intergalactic Songs, and I planned for all the food to be Space Inspired.
We had Starry Eyed Pizza Pies, Veggie UFOs, Constellation Pasta, Sun Butter and Jelly Sandwiches, Spicy Turkey Spaceballs, Moon Pies, & a Rocket Ship Cake. Of course I forgot to take a picture of all the food.
To make the cake I used my basic Chocolate Cake & Vanilla Buttercream Recipe with 2-8" Round Cake Pans. I modified a outline I found on Pinterest to cut and shape the cake into a Rocket Ship and decorated with my buttercream colored with gel food coloring and M&Ms.
It was such a fun party, Bowen, Sawyer, and their friends ran around the house pulling out all the toys and played in the backyard with the daddies, while the adults gathered in the kitchen talking, eating, drinking and celebrating. My cousin, Erica, and her boyfriend, Mike, even came dress in theme, Erica wore a Astronaut Suit while Mike wore a Space Jam Jersey. We ended the party with Bowie blowing out his candle.
